20 Miles More recognised in Westbourne 100
20 Miles More has been named as one of the top 100 campaigns of the last 12 months (we’ve been going 10 weeks) by Westbourne. The winner of the infrastructure & transport category will be announced on the 15th of May. We’re very grateful for everyone who has helped so far; we’ve also become the top city HS2 campaign on twitter!

“20 Miles More
About the campaign: 20 Miles More is a campaign supported by a coalition of leading business figures and academics to have the proposed HS2 network extended to include Liverpool. At present Liverpool is the only major city in the North and Midlands not directly connected to HS2 and it is estimated that a branch serving the city would help increase the city region’s GVA by £8bn over 20 years.
How it changed opinion: In building a coalition of supporters, 20 miles more have understood that what other people say on your behalf, is often more powerful than what you say about yourself.
Outcome: The coalition, combined with a report analyzing the benefits it would provide to the region, has added weight to a well-run campaign and raised Liverpool into the debate over HS2.”
